Prince William Meets President Joe Biden in Boston

The Prince of Wales is having a jam-packed three days in Boston for the Earthshot Prize. Ahead of this evening's ceremony, Prince William met with President Joe Biden.

As the two stood in the cold Boston air outside at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, President Biden asked the Prince where his coat was. Prince William also called the location a "spectacular setting," as the two exchanged hellos. After, they headed inside the library to chat.

According to a spokesperson for the Prince of Wales, during the meeting, Prince William expressed his gratitude to the American people for the warm reception he and Kate Middleton have received in Boston. They also discussed tonight's Earthshot Prize ceremony, and the impact the finalists are having on fighting climate change.

This is their fourth meeting in the last two years. Of note, they met at the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow in 2021, and earlier this year, President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were in the UK for Queen Elizabeth's state funeral.

"We send our deepest condolences to the Royal Family, who are not only mourning their Queen, but their dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy will loom large in the pages of British history, and in the story of our world," the Bidens shared in a statement following the death of Queen Elizabeth.

Both Biden and Prince William met in the midst of busy schedules. Last night, President Biden hosted his first state dinner at the White House—a glittering, star-studded affair that featured guests like Jennifer Garner and her daughter, Violet. On Sunday, Biden will likely attend the 2022 Kennedy Center Honors. Tonight, Prince William will attend the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony—the reason for his U.S. trip.
