Do Prince William and Kate Middleton Watch Downton Abbey?

It seems like everyone you know is a fan of Downton Abbey. But did you know Prince William and Kate Middleton adore the hit series too?

As Town and Country recently shared, we can count the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge among our ranks, at least when it comes to TV viewing habits. In a video from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts that was shared before Downton Abbey's last TV episode, Prince William expressed his love for the show alongside other celebrity superfans. "When I first heard Downton Abbey was to receive the BAFTA Special award," Prince William says—see the 5:02 mark below—"I was absolutely thrilled. It is one of Catherine's and my favorite programs."

At the 6:44 mark, Prince William adds, "As the president of BAFTA, I am delighted that we are paying tribute to this extraordinary series that has flown the flag for British drama both at home and internationally. Few British series have ever managed to achieve such worldwide acclaim and many millions of people, myself included, have enjoyed the life and times of the Crawley family. My congratulations to everyone at Downton Abbey and as a fan, thank you." In the video, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Whoopi Goldberg, Sharon Osbourne and more chimed in with their love for the show.

We don't know about you, but watching this clip has got us even more excitied for the upcoming Downton Abbey movie debuting in theaters this Friday, September 20th.

We don't think we'll be running into the Duke and Duchess at our local cinema, but it's nice to know the show has some of our favorite royals as fans.
