Prince William to Interview David Attenborough at the World Economic Forum in Davos
At 92, David Attenborough is still working to spread the word about environmentalism-and not for the first time, he's getting a boost from the royal family.
Kensington Palace has announced that Prince William will share the stage with Attenborough at next year's World Economic Forum in Davos. According to the palace, the pair will "discuss Sir David’s decades of work highlighting the importance of the natural world and the urgent challenges and opportunities that will face the next generation of environmental leaders." William will also join a panel discussion about mental health.

Attenborough (also known as Sir David Attenborough, as he was knighted in 1985) has enjoyed an enduring relationship with the royal family. In 2017, Prince William attended the world premiere of Blue Planet II; the previous year, he honored Attenborough twice onstage, at the 2016 Tusk Conservation Awards and the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards.
It's truly the Queen, however, who Attenborough has befriended. Earlier this year, a TV documentary titled The Queen's Green Planet featured an entertaining, casual conversation between the two, indicative of their long-held bond.
At an event honoring Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday, Attenborough read Paddington Bear creator Michael Bond's writing about reaching the age of 90 (the Queen plus Attenborough plus Paddington is the cutest, most British trio out there).
Attenborough likely became close to the Queen when he produced her annual Christmas broadcast from 1986 to 1991-and one year, he even chose her outfit. Queen Elizabeth was reportedly unhappy with his decision, telling him that "There is no pleasing you people from the media... I am told by one lot that I have to wear something colorful so I can be seen in a crowd-and then you come along and tell me I have to wear something pale and nondescript."
A bit of squabbling between friends never hurt anyone.
