Sounds like things are more tense than ever between Prince Harry and Prince William following Prince Harry’s trip to England for the Queen’s Jubilee. A source tells Us Weekly that Harry has “not been in a good place” with his brother for years (I mean…yes, we know), that they “hit rock bottom” after the Sussexes’ Oprah interview, and that now their bond is “doomed” and “irreparable.”

Wow, this Us Weekly source clearly woke up and decided to be as dramatic as humanly possible! Anyway, they also noted that William “doesn’t know who [Harry] is anymore and the trust between them is strained,” mostly because the royals have been “burned so many times.”

While the insider claims “they’ll never recover from the damage that has been done,” William of course “still loves his little brother. He’s his own flesh and blood and that underlying affection will never go away. William’s not one to bear grudges but what’s right is right. He’ll be civil to a point, but he’s not going to play happy families with them again or pretend that everything’s A-okay when it’s anything but.”

It’s unclear when William and Harry might get another chance to mend fences because as of now, the Sussexes don’t have any known plans to return to England (although they did renew the lease on their home in Windsor, Frogmore Cottage!). That said, the Queen is reportedly throwing Prince William and Kate Middleton a joint 40th birthday party at one of her palaces sometime later this summer, and it seems probable that Meghan and Harry will be invited. Whether or not they’ll fly back to England and attend the event is another matter.
