At the end of February, Thomas Kingston, the husband of Lady Gabriella Kent and son-in-law of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, tragically died at age 45.

Today, a private funeral was held for him at the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace. In the congregation were around 140 people, including close family and friends of his widow, Lady Gabriella Windsor, and the Kingston family. Following the one hour service, a private cremation was held. No details will be shared about Kingston's final resting place.

Among those who attended the funeral were members of the royal family, including Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Prince William, Princess Alexandra, and the Duke of Kent. King Charles was not present, due to his current inability to attend large events, and Queen Camilla had a previously scheduled engagement at Buckingham Palace.

Upon Kingston's passing, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said "The King and The Queen have been informed of Thomas’s death and join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in grieving a much-loved member of the family. In particular, Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thought sand prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family."

In a statement announcing his passing, Gabriella, Kingston's parents, and sisters said, "It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother. Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing."
