Prince Philip may be retired from royal life, but that doesn’t mean he stays cooped up at Windsor Castle all day. During a taping of The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs Saturday, the stars of the upcoming movie King of Thieves said the Duke of Edinburgh visited their set out of the blue. But that doesn’t mean he was interested in chatting with them.

"Prince Philip came to visit us on set one day. We were filming in Windsor,” star Paul Whitehouse said on the show.

"He pulled up in a car and the window went down on the Range Rover and he said 'What are you doing?’” costar Ray Winstone added. "I said, 'We’re making a film, sir.’ I said, 'Yes, with Sir Tom Courtenay and Sir Michael Caine, would you like to meet them?' And he went, 'No.’” The actors shouldn't take it personally, since it's still up in the air whether he'll even attend Princess Eugenie's wedding this October.

Perhaps Prince Philip might just check out the movie himself. King of Thieves, which also stars Jim Broadbent and Sir Michael Gambon, tells the story of the biggest burglary in British history. The group of thieves, who were all elderly men, stole £14 million ($18.2 million) in 2015. Watch the trailer for the movie below.
