Prince Philip Leaves Hospital on Christmas Eve After "Precautionary" Stay
Prince Philip has been discharged from hospital on Christmas Eve.
The queen's husband was photographed leaving King Edward VII's hospital in London early Tuesday morning.
It's thought that the prince is now on his way to Sandringham to join the royal family for Christmas.
Prince Philip has left hospital and is on his way home for Christmas, according to a new report.
Queen Elizabeth's husband was photographed leaving the London hospital where he has stayed for the past four nights. According to the Daily Mail, Philip was admitted to hospital after contracting a "'flu-like' illness for weeks and suffering a 'bad fall.'"
On Monday, Philip's son, Prince Charles, gave an update on his father's health. Per People, Charles visited a town in South Yorkshire, which had recently been flooded, and told a reporter, "He’s being looked after very well in the hospital." He continued, "At the moment that’s all we know."
Buckingham Palace previously released a statement that explained, "The Duke of Edinburgh travelled from Norfolk this morning to the King Edward VII Hospital in London for observation and treatment in relation to a pre-existing condition." The statement continued, "The admission is a precautionary measure, on the advice of His Royal Highness’ Doctor."

Meanwhile, a royal source told BAZAAR.com that Philip's stay in hospital was a planned visit for the duke. The queen arrived in Sandringham ahead of the festive season just as her husband, Philip, was being admitted to hospital. However, the routine stay was a "precautionary measure," and Philip now appears to be returning to Norfolk for the royal family's Christmas celebrations.
