Prince Harry's Hilarious Wedding Thong for Will and Kate Reminds Us of Better Times

Over a decade has passed since Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot in a highly publicized, obsessively chronicled wedding ceremony. So you would think there was no new news that could be wrung from an event that occurred the same year Beyonce announced she was pregnant with Blue Ivy.

But Marie Clare discovered an anecdote from that day that involves not just Will and Kate, but the now-estranged Prince Harry. And once you hear it, you'll see why it flew under the radar of the more serious academic reporting on the historic wedding.

It's not terribly surprising that Harry was asked to give a speech at his brother's wedding. Surprisingly, the Prince opted for not just a few jokes in his speech, but full-on Carrot Top-style prop comedy.

"During his speech," Marie Clare reported, "Harry read letters of goodwill sent to William and Kate by people from all over the world, including one man from the U.S. who had tried to capture 1,000 stoats to create a special garment for Kate."

Harry then claimed that the hunter allegedly fell short of their goal, having only been able to capture two stoats, which was only enough to "craft an ermine thong."

Now, that alone would be a saucy enough punchline for the high-profile wedding reception and a bit of bawdy humor. But no guts, no glory, right? Harry has one more trick up his sleeve.

Reportedly, he punctuated the "ermine thong" line by whipping out an actual thong and waving it toward the new bride. That's one heck of a "welcome to the family" from Harry, that's for sure.
