Prince Harry Toasted His Own Birthday With the Most Incredible Gift

How the royals spend their birthdays is always a guessing game, but this year, we actually have an answer as to how Prince Harry celebrated turning the big 3-6. The former royal and his wife Meghan Markle donated $130,000 to the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED), an organization that’s near and dear to both of their hearts.

The surprise donation was actually a match: After an ongoing online campaign spearheaded by the Sussex Squad raised $129,000 for the charity as a way to honor both Meghan and Harry’s birthdays (the Duchess of Sussex turned 39 on August 4), the formerly royal pair couldn’t help double the amount of the charitable gift.

In a statement released by CAMFED, the couple said: “No better way to celebrate what really matters. Thank you to everyone who donated, Harry and Meghan.”

For reference, CAMFED is a non-profit organization that works to eradicate poverty in Africa through girls’ education and empowerment. Both Harry and Meghan are longtime supporters, with Harry traveling to Zambia to support their efforts in 2018 and Meghan participating in a panel for International Women’s Day with the organization’s executive director back in 2019.

Bravo, Harry and Meghan. Consider us inspired.
