From Town & Country

Today, England is set to face off against South Africa in the Rugby World Cup, but before the British team hits the field, it seems they've gotten some very special support from a few royal fans.

During a press conference yesterday, the English team was asked whether they had received any support for their big game from the royal family and Sam Underhill, a flanker for the team, revealed they've had some special royal well-wishes.

"Not personally," Underhill joked, "But as a group we've had a couple of messages." He added, "Prince Harry sent us a nice message of support, which was nice to receive. Showed his little lad in an England shirt, so that was a nice touch."

The "little lad" in question, we presume, is Archie, who has had a big week of fashion influencing—albeit all without photographic evidence. First, the Sussexes filled our hearts with glee at the the idea of baby Archie celebrating his first Halloween dressed as a pumpkin, courtesy of the caption on their Halloween Instagram post. Now, we get to envision England's favorite little ginger done up to support his national team.

Obviously the love of the sport must run in the family: Archie's dad, Prince Harry is a big fan and even became patron of the Rugby Football Union in 2017. In fact, he's actually in Japan, where this year's Rugby World Cup is being held, to support the team in person. Harry will also deliver a message of good luck from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

Hello Japan! 👋🏻🇯🇵 • The Duke of Sussex has arrived in Japan ahead of today’s Rugby World Cup 2019 Final. First stop is a visit to the new Para Arena training centre, a fully accessible venue to provide equal opportunities to the local community. The Duke met with local Paralympic hopefuls as they participated in training sessions including wheelchair rugby, boccia, and powerlifting. This was especially meaningful to His Royal Highness, who five years ago founded @WeAreInvictusGames - which uses the power of sport to inspire recovery and support rehabilitation of wounded veterans who have physical or mental injuries. Japan is the first-ever country to host two Paralympic Games! Next year Tokyo will welcome over 4,000 athletes from around the world, creating a huge opportunity to help celebrate and promote diversity. Thank you for the warm welcome, and good luck with all the training and preparation! We look forward to seeing you all compete in the @Tokyo2020 Paralympic Games next year!
