Prince Harry, 38, was stripped of his honorary military titles when he stepped down as a senior royal. Of course he isn’t the only member of the royal family to go through this, as his uncle Prince Andrew, 63, was stripped of his military affiliations and royal patronages following the sexual abuse allegations filed against him by Virginia Giuffre, as well as his alleged friendship with convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

The Duke of Sussex previously held several honorary military titles including commodore-in-chief of small ships and diving, honorary air commandant of RAF Honington, and captain general of the Royal Marines. However, he was stripped of the honorary titles, which were awarded to him by the late Queen Elizabeth II after serving two tours of Afghanistan, when he and Meghan Markle, 42, decided to step down as senior royals.

The decision to step down as a working royal also meant that Prince Harry was unable to wear his military uniform to his late grandmother’s funeral in September 2022, which he was said to be heartbroken over. Also as a direct result of them quitting royal life and moving to California, Prince Harry and Meghan have also quietly been stripped of their HRH titles, with the change being evident on the official royal family website last month.

Prince Harry Reportedly 'Hates' King Charles' Decision To Remove His Honorary Military Titles

Although Prince Harry and King Charles could have engaged in some peace talks during Prince Harry's brief time in the U.K. for the annual WellChild Awards (they took place on Thursday, September 7th) a royal expert revealed that he will "never forgive" his father for making what he refers to as a "hate-filled" decision to remove his honorary military titles, according to the New York Post.

Our King: The Man and the Monarch Revealed author and biographer Robert Jobson told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat on Monday, September 4th that Prince Harry "hates" how his father stripped him of his honorary military titles when he and the former Suits actress quit royal life.

"He hates the idea that he is not captain general of the Royal Marines, and he hates the fact that he’s lost all these positions," Jobson said. "If he’d been in the royal family, and not gone down this path, I think he’d have been hugely beneficial to the country, and he could have done even more," he added.

Removing Duke And Duchess Titles Is Reportedly 'Not Going To Happen'

Jobson told The Daily Express back in August that Harry and Meghan's Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, which were given to them by the late Queen, will not be in jeopardy – even if Meghan becomes president! Jobson told the pub that Meghan having her title being removed is "just not going to happen."

The Charles at Seventy – Thoughts, Hopes & Dreams author said that stripping them of their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles is "just going to rock everybody and create a story that will shake the Hornet’s Nest again. And as a result, it’s not going to achieve anything." He added: "It’s definitely very unlikely that Harry will ever be King, so why play a problem?"
