Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are showing up in England in 3, 2, 1, and their participation in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will obviously create a huge spotlight. But apparently, the couple is keeping the trip simple in order to avoid overshadowing the Queen’s celebrations and won’t do any events of their own.

The Daily Mail reports that the couple told the Queen that they’ll keep a “low profile during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations next weekend” after Her Majesty “ordered the family to come together” with “no dramas.”

“Her Majesty is typically very keen that the Platinum Jubilee be a celebration not of herself and her own longevity, but of the institution of the monarchy and the people that support and sustain it,” a source says. “It is also a chance for people to come together after a very difficult period for this country. She doesn’t want anything to overshadow it–and that includes any family issues.”

Meanwhile, The Telegraph reports that the palace is low-key spiraling about Meghan and Harry’s arrival and “courtiers have been doing everything in their power to diffuse any potential flash points.” *cue eye roll*

Apparently, there’s concern that the couple might make “unofficial” appearances, but a source told The Telegraph last week what the Daily Mail’s sources also report: that Meghan and Harry will downplay their spotlight by “avoiding visits elsewhere.” As one insider noted, “I don’t think they’re doing much. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just do Trooping and the service and that’s it.”

FYI, the couple just renewed their lease on Frogmore Cottage, and a source tells The Sun that this is “signal that they aren’t going to disappear” and that “by agreeing to extend the lease, and with Jack and Eugenie focusing on Portugal, they have a firm presence smack bang in the middle of Windsor court where it’s all happening. They can now come and go any time they please. The coming year could be one of the most tumultuous in royal history and the Sussexes are making sure they have a foothold in Windsor.”
