The royal family website has implemented another placement change for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Under the section of the website titled "Members of the Royal Family," the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been moved down toward the end of the list. They were previously listed below Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie (Countess of Wessex and Forfar), but now they’re listed at the bottom just ahead of Prince Andrew.

The royal family

This change is most likely due to the fact that King Charles has taken over the British throne after Queen Elizabeth II passed away at age 96. The royal family reordered the list to reflect these changes and moved all non-working members (like Prince Harry and Markle) to the bottom.

This isn’t the first time the royal family has changed the ranking on the official website. After Prince Harry and Markle tied the knot, they were listed underneath Prince William and Kate Middleton. When they stepped down as senior royals in 2020, they were moved below the Earl and Countess of Wessex of Forfar.

However, it looks like the website will need another update very soon, given the fact that Prince Harry’s bio refers to the queen as if she were still alive. It says, “They are balancing their time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour their duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and their patronages.”

Markle’s page has the same paragraph—but unlike Prince Harry’s bio, there’s an additional note that references her two children: “The Duke and Duchess have two children, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor.”

With so many changes, whoever’s in charge of updating the royal family website has their work cut out for them.
