Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Have Reportedly Planned Their First Trip With the Royal Baby

And it could be the prelude to something much bigger.

UPDATE: 6:45 P.M., Saturday, May 26

Another day, another royal family update—and it seems like another source has shared some reported intel with the Daily Mail, adding to last month's reports (below) saying that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were already planning their first royal trip with baby Archie. According to the Mail's source, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are planning to head to South Africa "and a number of other countries on the continent" later this year.

While this isn't the same rumor as the one that the royal family is moving to Africa for a longer stay, the Mail columnist writes that it's being seen as a "prelude" to the move.

Original Story

The royal baby isn't even here yet—well, not that we know of anyway, as it's been announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are keeping the birth private and will make the announcement when they're ready. But the latest word on the royals' future plans are looking a little further ahead—and a little further afield. Best of all, they involve what might just shape up to be the royal family's first official trip together, complete with Baby Sussex in tow.

Harry and Meghan are reportedly planning an official tour to Africa for two weeks later this year, which would center on empowering youth, education, and conservation. While it's TBD on where they'd go, there are 19 Commonwealth countries in Africa.

"They hope to take the baby with them but will make a decision nearer the time. Potentially, Meghan and the baby could do some, if not all, of the trip," said a royal source, according to the Sunday Times. Buckingham Palace neither confirmed nor denied the report, according to CNN.

There have been reports in the past couple of weeks that Harry and Meghan are actually planning to move to Africa for up to three years after the royal baby arrives. (It's long been a favorite destination for the couple.) So whether this is just a tour or a more extended break, it's too soon to tell. We have a feeling Baby Sussex won't have any trouble getting a passport, though.
