Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting ready for the 2023 Invictus Games. After attending a one year to go event in Düsseldorf in early September, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are promoting the international sporting competition.

At the end of a black-and-white teaser video, the royal couple faces off against each other in what seems to be an intense game of ping-pong (also called table tennis). The sport will be joining the line-up at the 2023 games, so it makes sense that the promotion for the event includes Prince Harry playing table tennis.

The last Invictus Games took place in April 2022 in the Hague; they were delayed due to the pandemic. The Games, which were founded by Prince Harry in 2014, are a cause that the Duke of Sussex cares deeply about—and they have been the site of important relationship milestones for Harry and Meghan.

In 2017, the two went public with their relationship for the first time at the Invictus Games in Toronto, and in 2018, their first major royal tour of Australia featured a day at the Games. "On a very personal note, I just wanted to thank all of you for welcoming me into the Invictus family," Meghan said that year. "I am truly so grateful to be a part of this with each and every one of you."

During his speech at the 2022 Games opening ceremony, Prince Harry called the participants role models. "When I talk to my son, Archie, about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it’s an astronaut. Other days it’s a pilot. A helicopter pilot obviously. Or Quasi...from Octonauts…," the Duke of Sussex said. "But what I remind him is that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it’s your character that matters most. And nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us: YOU."
