Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Planning to Move in Together?

And is Markle sending a message with her “confetti” tweet?

There is so much interest in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and their nearly year-long relationship, and such a flurry of reports about them appearing daily, that it is frankly hard to keep track of what is really going on with the pair. That neither of them has spoken to the press about their relationship just further adds to the intrigue. And now, at the beginning of this week, we have two new Markle-related reports to grapple with.

The last we heard, the pair was—in full-fledged romantic comedy fashion—touring the Natural History Museum together in the evening. (No doubt ending the night at a small table set with two glasses of Champagne by the most breathtaking dinosaur skeleton, or whatever.)

Now, a number of outlets have reported that the pair may be moving in together. The Daily Mail’s Sebastian Shakespeare wrote that the two will be moving into a new apartment in the basement of Kensington Palace; the apartment in question is currently being renovated and would be located very close to William and Kate’s wing of the palace. The Express added that the renovations would allow for more than 1,500 square meters (16,146 square feet) of extra space over three floors, calling it a “love nest” and noting that the apartment used to be Princess Diana’s.

But before you go and purchase dream catchers and polo gear for the couple as a housewarming gift, we should probably consider that moving in together would likely coincide with an engagement, and it is unclear just how soon that might happen. A different Express report from this week claims that the two are “intensely happy,” but, per those close to them, “will want to give their relationship more time before making any big decisions.”

While Markle has remained silent on social media the past few weeks, The Tig, her lifestyle brand, tweeted the following “#TigThought” on Monday: “Add a little confetti to each day.” In any normal universe, this tweet would not be something any of us would think about for more than three seconds. Nevertheless, given the increased attention on Markle’s life, the Express posits this message has “helped spark wedding speculation.” Imagine if every time you tweeted about party decorations, an outlet suggested you must be getting engaged any minute.
