Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Have Officially Moved Out of Frogmore Cottage

Buckingham Palace just released its annual Sovereign Grant report, and confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially moved out of Frogmore Cottage. A palace official confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had "only just left" and recently packed up.

After their wedding, Harry and Meghan were gifted Frogmore Cottage by Queen Elizabeth, and refurbished the property through the Sovereign Grant. They have since repaid the entire cost.

Earlier this year, King Charles asked the Sussexes to move out, and a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan confirmed that "the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage." There was speculation that King Charles wants his brother, Prince Andrew, to move in to Frogmore—thus moving him out of Royal Lodge at Windsor.

Previously, when Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals, it was shared that they would keep Frogmore Cottage as a UK residence "so that their family will always have a place to call home in the United Kingdom." At the time, Buckingham Palace, too, said Frogmore Cottage "will remain their UK family home."

In June 2022, Prince Harry and Meghan, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, returned to the UK for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee and stayed at Frogmore Cottage. While there, they had a first birthday party for Lili, and Meghan packed up many of their belongings.

When Prince Harry was in the UK to attend preliminary hearings for his phone hacking lawsuit in March 2023, he reportedly stayed at Frogmore Cottage. The Telegraph reported, that he possibly "used the visit to sort out the couple’s belongings and work out what needs to be shipped to the US ahead of vacating the property."

Now, it seems as if Montecito, California is their full time (and only) residence.
