Prince Harry just gave Sussex fans a rare look into the Montecito home where he and Duchess Meghan live with their kids.

During a surprise virtual appearance for Travalyst—a global coalition of travel and tech companies dedicated to sustainability, which Harry founded in 2019—the Duke of Sussex tuned into the annual convening call from what appeared to be an office at the California residence. He talked about the connection between the tourism economy and sustainability.

“Communities are the beating heart of travel, and we must do better by the people who are the custodians of the places we visit,” he said. “More and more people are wanting to make informed travel choices so that the benefit of travel is felt by all. Travalyst and its partners bring a combined market value of nearly $3 trillion and are working hard to provide that resource at a systems level.”

Sitting behind him was a large white bead-boarded bookshelf, featuring several mementos and books that displayed the couple’s personal tastes. On the middle shelf behind Harry’s head sat a large picture frame appearing to show various photos of his late mother, Princess Diana. People notes that a black-and-white version of the same portrait was included in Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare.

Elsewhere on the shelves were framed artwork and a collection of books. One frame shows an illustration of Meghan’s outfits from her 2021 visit to New York City, sketched by artist Jennifer Vallez. “I received an email from Meghan’s assistant expressing appreciation for my illustrations documenting the Duke and Duchess’s love story. They conveyed a desire to support my work,” Vallez told People earlier this year. “I was aware they got my art when Meghan sent a lovely handwritten thank-you note. However, I wasn’t sure how they’d showcase it. The fact that one of my prints is now in Prince Harry’s office is simply surreal!”

A stack of books placed on the middle shelf featured various titles on wellness, cooking, and home decor, Town and Country notes, including Daily Oracle: Seek Answers from Your Higher Self, by Jerico Mandybur; California: Living + Eating: Recipes Inspired by the Golden State, by Eleanor Maidment; and The New Mediterranean: Homes and Interiors Under the Southern Sun, published by Gestalten.

The books reify the presumed mission of Meghan’s new lifestyle venture, American Riviera Orchard, which is set to release products that showcase the duchess’s refined sense of taste when it comes to areas like health, food, and interiors.
