Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their daughter Lilibet's first birthday at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor this past weekend.

According to a spokesperson for the Sussexes, close friends and family marked the special occasion on Saturday with at a casual backyard picnic, which included a cake from baker Claire Ptak—who notably made Harry and Meghan's wedding cake in 2018.

Photographer Misan Harriman was in attendance at the intimate event, and he is the one who took the candid photograph that Prince Harry and Meghan are sharing today. Harriman, who is a close friend of the Sussexes, also photographed their pregnancy announcement in March 2021. This picture, which shows off her gorgeous red hair, is only Lili's second public photo—the first was the Sussexes' 2021 holiday card.

This past weekend, the Sussexes traveled to England for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee, and while Lili and her older brother, Archie, made no public appearances, Meghan and Harry attended the National Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul's. On Saturday, they celebrated Lili's first birthday in private, and did not publicly attend any other Jubilee events.

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan shared that they were touched by the birthday wishes for Lili, and that people around the world made donations amounting to over $100K to the World Central Kitchen (WCK) in her honor.

Chef José Andrés's World Central Kitchen (WCK) partnered with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Archewell foundation in December 2020, and the Sussexes have continued working with WCK through the present today—in Ukraine and Uvalde.

"For me, it is a pleasure to call them friends," Andrés said of the Sussexes. "All my life I have been trying to learn what exactly we are missing because why is there still hunger? What are we missing? We have to make the most of the opportunities of goodness, and I believe that with people like Meghan and Harry, we can make it happen."
