From Town & Country

A few weeks ago, when both Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be forming a new royal household, it was unclear if that meant they would also be launching their own social media accounts.

Fast-forward to yesterday when the Duke and Duchess launched their own Instagram account, @sussexroyal, and shared their first post, a slideshow of images with a caption that reads:

"'Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.' - Harry & Meghan"

The images used to launch the handle include a graphic of Harry and Meghan's conjugal cypher, which is like a joint royal monogram, as well as photos of the Duke and Duchess greeting the public on walkabouts, cheering on the Invictus Games, and supporting the causes they've chosen to champion, from the needs of military service people to wildlife conservation, and women's empowerment.

Tucked at the end of the gallery was a previously unseen image of the Duke and Duchess's royal tour of Fiji. Taken from behind, the photo shows the royals up on the balcony of the Grand Pacific Hotel. It's almost the exact reverse of this image:

In a tweet yesterday, royal reporter Omid Scobie confirmed that it is a new photo, but the photographer still remains a mystery.

What is becoming clear though, is the Sussex family's penchant for pictures from this angle. If you recall, their Christmas card last year featured a similar photo from their royal wedding.

Certainly, we'll see the Sussex's Instagram aesthetic evolve over the life of their account, but fingers crossed this particular photo is a sign of more behind-the-scenes images to come.
