  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle issued an apology for their typo to their @sussexroyal Instagram account.

  • They also reposted a corrected version of the previous Maya Angelou quote without the misspelling.

In case you didn't notice, people seriously love to give Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a hard time. Meghan and Harry were mercilessly dragged for flying in a private jet—remember that? Then, the royal family allegedly turned their backs on Harry and Meghan after Harry announced his lawsuit against several British publications. And most recently, Instagram users came for Meghan and Harry's necks over a typo. They can't win!

Two days ago, Meghan and Harry posted a quote by Maya Angelou to their official Instagram account, @sussexroyal. The quote card read “Each time a women stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women,” when the first "women" in the quote should have said "woman."

Honestly, this typo mistake shouldn't have been a huge deal, but so many people found the need to point it out and correct Meghan and Harry on it. Like hellooooo, have these people never made a single typo in their life? Sure, Meghan and Harry are royals, but at the end of the day they are still susceptible to human error like the rest of us.

Following the typo backlash, Meghan and Harry's digital team decided to repost a corrected version of the quote, along with a quick apology to their followers. They wrote:

We post inspiring words like these so you can enjoy them, remember them, and share them - all the more reason to ensure they’re accurate. We are reposting because of a typo in the previous quote card.

Apologies for the hiccup, and many thanks to those of you who flagged it for us! We do hope you’ll keep and share these powerful words from Maya Angelou

So now that the quote is corrected, people can FINALLY leave Meghan and Harry alone. Let them live!
