Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Discretely Volunteered Together in Los Angeles

On Wednesday, it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex volunteered with the Los Angeles–based organization Homeboy Industries. The organization is a community social justice group that works to improve the lives of formerly incarcerated and previously gang-involved individuals in the city.

Homeboy Industries took to social media to share photos from the Sussexes' visit. In the photos, both Harry and Meghan can be seen wearing protective face masks, hairnets, gloves, and aprons as they worked alongside the organization's bakery and cafe teams.

The couple joined the Homeboy and Homegirl team members for a session of cooking and conversation, and worked to prepare food for the #FEEDHope program, which employs Homeboy participants to provide meals to vulnerable seniors and youth across the Los Angeles area amid the coronavirus crisis.

"Thank you to Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, for visiting and standing in kinship with our Café and Bakery teams yesterday!" wrote the organization alongside the post shared to Instagram. "Our staff was thrilled to work alongside them as they helped prepare food and learned more about our newly launched #FeedHOPE program, which employs our program participants to provide meals to food-insecure seniors and youth across Los Angeles in the wake of the #COVID19 pandemic."

BAZAAR.com understands that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been regularly conversing with the organization's leader, Father Greg Boyle, who has worked closely with Meghan's high school, Immaculate Heart High School. Meghan previously worked with Boyle and Homeboy Industries almost 20 years ago when she participated in a cooking workshop with her mother, Doria Ragland.
