Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left a very gracious tip at a Harlem restaurant yesterday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed a soul food lunch at Melba's in South Harlem, after Duchess Meghan read to children at P. S. 123 Mahalia Jackson School. The couple donated $25,000 to the restaurant's employee relief fund, which directly aids hourly employees who were impacted by the pandemic.

Duchess Meghan wore a fall-appropriate maroon oversized jacket and matching wide leg trousers by Loro Piana, with Prince Harry sporting a gray sweater and khaki slacks. According to an insider source, the couple dined on catfish with chipotle mayo, spring rolls, black-eyed peas and collard greens.

The famed Harlem eatery launched their Melba's Employee Relief Fund in partnership with the nonprofit Team Unity Incorporated, with a goal of raising at least $250,000 for financial relief. 90 percent of donations is meant to directly aid hourly and salary employees at Melba's, with the remainder going to Team Unity, which supports multicultural education in the NYC Metropolitan area.

According to the insider, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to contribute to the fund after hearing about their efforts.

The restaurant's owner, Melba Wilson, thanked Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan for their generous donation on Instagram, sharing a photo of the three sitting at a circular booth in the restaurant.

"It was such an honor to officially welcome Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Melba’s! I am so thankful for their commitment to donate $25k and hope to welcome them back soon. Thank you for dining with us!" the caption reads.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are set to continue their busy NYC weekend today, with their anticipated appearance at the Global Citizen Live event, where they'll be joined by a number of high profile celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Doja Cat, and more to fundraise for global vaccine equity.
