When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the UK and to the spotlight earlier this month for a farewell tour of sorts before they officially step back from their senior positions in the royal family, they left their son Archie back in Canada.

According to Telegraph reporter Bryony Gordon, the decision was made to protect the 10-month-old amid the ongoing novel coronavirus outbreak, and the youngster reportedly stayed in the care of a nanny, and Meghan's close friend Jessica Mulroney.

But another royal reunion could soon be in the Sussexes' future. The Sunday Times reports that Meghan and Harry have accepted an invitation from Queen Elizabeth to spend some time at Balmoral Castle in Scotland this summer, and that they plan to bring Archie with them.

"They are also expected to spend time with the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall at Birkhall, Charles’s retreat on the Balmoral estate," writes reporter Roya Nikkhah.

Harry and Meghan are transitioning out of their roles as working royals in just a few weeks' time, but the Queen has made it clear that they will always be a part of the royal family.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family,” the British monarch wrote in a statement earlier this year.

“I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family. It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”
