We've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Prince Harry's new memoir, Spare, for months, because we figured the first-hand account would include all kinds of special, never-before-heard details. Now that the book is nearly out, all kinds of small tidbits are being revealed, including one moment where the Duke of Sussex talks about Meghan Markle's wedding tiara.

As revealed by Page Six, apparently the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had thought it would be “touching” for Markle to wear one of Princess Diana's tiaras, but the late Queen Elizabeth II had requested that Markle borrow one from the Buckingham Palace private collection of jewelry.

As Prince Harry reports, the queen and her dresser, Angela Kelly, presented Markle with five different options, including one that was all-emeralds and another with aquamarine stones.

In the passage, the Duke of Sussex says that everyone agreed one of the designs “stood out from the others” and “looked like it was made for Meg,” although it's unclear if the tiara Markle wore on the big day is the same one.

Prior to picking the tiara, Markle was warned by Princess Catherine that the process of testing it out with her hairstylist would be quite intensive. However, once she requested to take the tiara out of the palace, she was told by Kelly that it would require “an ordinance and police escort.” (Talk about strong security!)

In the end, Markle sported Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, a gorgeous silver piece that has a “floral composition” representing each country of the commonwealth. Meanwhile, the veil was designed by Clare Waight Keller, who also designed Markle's dress.

We can't wait to see what other things we learn when Spare hits bookstores on January 10.
