The First Photos of Harry and Meghan’s Royal Baby Are Too Cute

Just days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed the royal baby, a boy, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared the first official photos of the newborn with the world.

The adorable new family posed at St. George's Hall at Windsor Castle, with Harry holding the little one and Markle looking like a happy mom. "I have the two best guys in the world, so I'm really happy," she said, according to CNN.

While royal fans and experts alike speculated that Markle was due in April or early May, the news caught the world by surprise on Monday, kicking off a week of royal baby fever. In the official announcement, they wrote, “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.”

In an unexpected move, Harry stepped out onto the grounds of Windsor Castle following his son’s birth to speak with the press, hinting at the fact that royal baby photos would come soon, and speaking about how cute the baby is.

“We're still thinking about names. The baby was a little overdue so we had some time to think about it. But we'll be seeing you guys in two to three days time so you can see the baby," he told reporters. "I haven’t been at many births. This is definitely my first. It’s incredible. I’m so incredibly proud of my wife.”

Following the royal baby’s birth, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared their excitement for their nephew in an official Kensington Palace statement.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son today, and look forward to meeting the latest addition to the family,” the statement read.

Similarly, Buckingham Palace also provided an update about the reaction of other family members. “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news,” it read.

It continued, “The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage. Her Royal Highness and the baby are both doing well.”
