Prince Harry Finds Post-Royal Life a "Bit Challenging," Says Jane Goodall
One of Prince Harry's close friends—anthropologist Dr. Jane Goodall—revealed in a new interview that Harry is finding his post-royal life "a bit challenging."
"I don't know how his career is going to map out, but yes, I've been in touch [with Harry]. Though I think he's finding life a bit challenging just now," said Dr. Goodall.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan recently relocated to Los Angeles where they are self-quarantining amid the coronavirus pandemic with their young son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
Prince Harry is trying to adjust to his new life since stepping down from the royal family. According to anthropologist and friend Dr. Jane Goodall, the Duke of Sussex is finding his new venture into a more normal and independent life "a bit challenging."
In a new interview with Radio Times, Dr. Goodall opened up about how the latest slew of changes in Harry's life—including moving abroad and having to hit pause on the development of his and Duchess Meghan's charity, Archewell, due to the coronavirus pandemic—is affecting the royal.
"I don't know how his career is going to map out, but yes, I've been in touch [with Harry]," shared Dr. Goodall. "Though I think he's finding life a bit challenging just now."
Dr. Goodall, who has remained close with Harry in recent years due to his passion for global environmental conservation, shared in another recent interview that she wasn't fully surprised by Harry and Meghan's monumental announcement that they would be leaving royal life behind. Speaking with the Daily Mail Weekend Magazine, Dr. Goodall revealed that Harry was firm in assuring that his young son, Archie—who turns one next month—wouldn't receive the same royal upbringing that Harry did.
"At the end [of the conversation with Harry] Meghan came in to listen with Archie. He was very tiny and very sleepy—not too pleased to be passed from his mummy. I think I was one of the first to cuddle him outside the family," said Dr. Goodall. "I made Archie do the queen's wave, saying, 'I suppose he'll have to learn this.' Harry said, 'No, he's not growing up like that.'"
