Prince Harry Is Expected to Be in the UK Less Than 48 Hours for the Coronation

In the lead up to King Charles's coronation, rumors swirled about the Sussexes, and whether or not they would attend the service.
Speculation was put to rest on April 12 when Buckingham Palace announced, and a Sussex spokesperson subsequently confirmed, that Prince Harry would be in attendance at his father's crowning, but his wife Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, would not travel to London for the ceremony. "The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet," reads a statement shared on April 10.
Later that month, a close friend of Meghan's shared with People: "Meghan wants to be there to support her father-in-law, but at the same time, the scrutiny she receives outweighs the support." The anonymous friend also said: "There's always going to be that other side challenging their reasoning, and who wants to put themselves in that position?"
Town & Country now understands that Harry's trip to the UK to be less than 48 hours long, and he is hoping to be back in the U.S. for the last few hours of his son Archie's birthday. Notably, Archie will turn 4 on the same day as King Charles's coronation.
The Sussexes have yet to confirm or comment on whether or not Meghan will be tuning in to the ceremony—which will air rather early in California—from afar.
