A Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Biography Is Coming This Summer
BAZAAR.com's royal editor Omid Scobie and journalist Carolyn Durand have teamed up to write a biography of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex called FINDING FREEDOM: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family.
The book, published by HarperCollins, is due in the summer of 2020.
Royal watchers have come to know the Duke and Duchess of Sussex through headlines, photos, and a few brief TV appearances, but an upcoming book will share a deeper view of the royal couple than the public has ever seen before.
Titled FINDING FREEDOM: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, the biography reveals yet-unknown details of the famous royal duo and shuts down many of the rumors surrounding them in the tabloids. It aims to depict an honest account of a couple who fell in love, broke boundaries, survived intense media scrutiny, welcomed a son in 2019, and, just this year, stepped back from the British monarchy.
The book comes from two people who've interacted closely with the Sussexes and covered their many activities through the years: BAZAAR's royal editor, Omid Scobie, and Emmy-winning producer and writer Carolyn Durand. The authors tout their work as the "definitive story of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex," written with the intent to "tell an accurate version of their journey and finally present the truth of misreported stories that have become gospel simply because of the amount of times they have been repeated."
"So much has happened since we embarked on this project two years ago — there have been twists and turns that I think no one expected; not even Harry and Meghan, who have by their own accounts struggled with their realities," Scobie tells BAZAAR.com of writing FINDING FREEDOM. "But along the way, I have watched a couple remain faithful to their own beliefs and stand strong in the face of adversity. This book will tell the definitive version of their incredible journey, away from the noise of headlines and mistruths. Though their story has largely taken place behind palace walls, their journey to create a life of purpose and freedom is something I think we can all relate to."
