Magazine noticed something different about Prince Harry's wedding ring during his recent visit to the Royal Marines Commando Training Centre, where photographers got an up close look at the band. Harry went against the norm of previous male royals by "opting for a modern, platinum design rather than the classic Welsh gold usually favored by his family."
Hello! points out that it's surprising Prince Harry wears his wedding ring at all. His brother, Prince William, and his grandfather, Prince Philip, do not wear their wedding rings. Harry's father, Prince Charles, does wear his wedding ring, but it's a stark contrast from the Duke of Sussex's sleek and slender design.
As Hello! noticed, "Charles’ ring is made from classic gold, like all other wedding rings in the royal family, which is traditionally gifted by the Queen from her personal collection of Welsh gold from the Clogau St. David Gold Mine in Dolgellau, Wales."
Another key difference? Harry displays his band on the ring finger, while Charles wears his gold band on the pinky finger.
