Prince Harry's Relative Will Walk Meghan Markle Down the Aisle Instead of Her Mom

[MUSIC] What would I put Megan in? Something very sleek and clean, quite bodied with a long train and I'd put her in a clinging silk crepe, but you know, she can't be the sex pup on her wedding day. She can look smoldering and wonderful, but it's got to be regal.

With only a day to go until the highly anticipated royal wedding, the intense family drama surrounding bride-to-be Meghan Markle has managed to wrestle attention away from the nuptials themselves. Thankfully, though, everything has been settled, and royal fans finally have an answer to the question "Who will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle to marry Prince Harry?"

In case you missed it, Markle's father dropped out of his role in the wedding so that he can recover from heart surgery (and the embarrassing fallout from those staged paparazzi photos), which left the part vacant. Rumor had it that Markle's mom Doria Ragland might take on the job, but now it has been announced Prince Charles will be the one to step up for his son and future daughter-in-law.

Kensington Palace announced Friday morning—one day before the wedding—that Markle has asked Prince Charles to walk her down the aisle instead.

“Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day,” the palace statement said. “The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way.”

A happy ending to a literal fairytale romance.
