The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released three new photos of their eldest child Prince George to mark his sixth birthday on July 22.
The young prince proves he’s just as big a football fan as his dad William, wearing an England shirt, complete with the Three Lions badge, as he plays in the garden at Kensington Palace.
Mum Kate, 37, took the candid snaps, one of which shows George throwing his head back with laughter, as he lays on the grass.
A second image, still in his England kit, sees him grinning directly at the camera.
The Duke of Cambridge, who is president of the Football Association, posted a personal tweet in support of the Lionesses during the Women’s World Cup 2019.
William, 37, is also an Aston Villa fan and celebrated his team’s promotion to the Premier League after they beat Derby County 2-1 at Wembley in May.
A third image of George, taken while on holiday with the family, sees the young royal in another outdoor setting wearing one of his trademark polo shirts, which looks to be this £5.99 one from H&M, and Sunuva’s £28 tailored stripe swim shorts.
The third to line in the throne, who attends Thomas’s Battersea in London, is believed to be now enjoying the school holidays, with sister Charlotte, four, and one-year-old brother Louis.
Kate took her three children to watch their dad and Uncle Harry play in the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day, in Wokingham, Berks earlier this month.
George and Charlotte were spotted playing with a football, as Kate chased after Louis.
The Cambridges were joined by the Duchess of Sussex and baby Archie on the family day out.
While plans for George’s birthday are being kept private, it’s believed that the family of five are celebrating with a low-key party at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall.
The Sun also reported that they could be heading off to the private island of Mustique in the Caribbean once again, where George spent his fifth birthday.
“With younger siblings Charlotte and Louis taking a lot of the attention at home, George is learning to be more independent,” the friend revealed of the young royal, who will start Year 2 in September.
"Yes, he has been protected from some of the realities about being third in line to the throne, but it is almost as if he is hard-wired to feel a sense of responsibility.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first child was born at 16:24pm at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, on 22 July 2013.
Two days later, his name was announced as George Alexander Louis and he was baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace on 23 October 2013.
He began his education at the Westacre Montessori School Nursery in Norfolk in January 2016 and started primary school at the private Thomas’s in September 2017.
George embarked on his royal tour of Australia in 2014, when he was just eight months old. The outfits he wore on the overseas trip marked the beginning of the ‘Prince George effect’ as parents rushed to buy his exact clothing and high street replicas.
