Prince George, Wearing a Suit, Joined His Parents at England's Football Game
Seven-year-old Prince George made a rare public appearance tonight in Wembley for the England vs. Germany football (aka soccer) game. Prince George was in the stands with his parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William. Both William and George wore navy suits, while Middleton donned a bright red blazer paired with a white t-shirt and dark pants.
This marks the young royal's first public event in 2021. Prince Geroge will turn eight years old on July 22. Not much is known about his young life, as his parents have done their utmost to keep their children protected from the public eye, despite their royal status. But in 2019, a source spoke to The Sun about Prince George's personality at six.
“George likes people,” a source said. “Whether he has learned this from his father or it simply comes naturally, he first likes to be sure that he can trust them. Growing up surrounded by courtiers, you learn fast that not everybody has your best interests at heart.
“While the outside world sees him as an infant, George is very much his own man,” the source, who spent time with the young prince growing up, added. “With younger siblings Charlotte and Louis taking a lot of the attention at home, George is learning to be more independent. Yes, he has been protected from some of the realities about being third in line to the throne, but it is almost as if he is hard-wired to feel a sense of responsibility.”
People reported in August 2019 that George and his younger sister Charlotte, 5, are quite close.
“They are close in age, and they spend so much time together,” an insider told the outlet. “Playdates [with outsiders] can be tricky, so they learn to lean on each other.”
Princess Charlotte is the “more outgoing” of the two, the source added, while Prince George is “more reserved.”
