Prince George Turns 5 on July 22, and He's Already Received His First Birthday Present

Prince George, who turns 5 years old on Sunday, July 22, isn’t like every kid. For one, he’s third in line to the royal throne (NBD). He had to pose foreverrrrr for his little bro’s christening pics (and, um, cheesed so hard during it). Also, he just received his first official birthday present…and it’s not something any 5-year-old kid would be excited over (but we definitely are).

The Royal Mint just released a commemorative coin for George’s birthday (one of an annual series called The Progress of a Prince) that will be available to the public for purchase in three different metals (cupronickelsterling silver and 22-karat gold). The £5 coin depicts St. George, the patron saint of England, slaying a dragon, with the year 2018 engraved on it.

We agree, he probably would’ve appreciated a toy airplane just as much…
