Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis Are "Very Interested in Aircraft"

Today, the Duchess of Cambridge paid a special visit to Royal Air Force base Brize Norton—an outing that likely sparked some excitement back home. While speaking with Sgt Mark Curtis, Middleton revealed that her kids are particularly keen on flying objects.

"She did mention that her children are very interested in aircraft," Curtis told Town & Country's Victoria Murphy.

Though Prince George, age 8, Princess Charlotte, age 6, and Prince Louis, age 3, did not get to tour the air force base, their mom got to go onboard an aircraft—specifically, a Boeing C-17 Globemaster—and spoke with Air Force military personnel.

The Duchess of Cambridge visited RAF Brize Norton specifically to visit with the Air Force members and others who worked to evacuate civilians from Afghanistan, after the Taliban gained control. Per Kensington Palace, the evacuation was the largest British humanitarian aid operation in 70 years, with the Royal Air Force helping 15,000 people leave Kabul. The Duchess of Cambridge also spent time with volunteers who helped support the evacuees upon their arrival in the UK.

While touring the base, the duchess took the opportunity to share some of her knowledge about the aircrafts. “She's so engaging and she's so lovely," said Wing Commander Calvin Bailey, per Murphy. "She wanted to show that she had knowledge and understanding of the planes."

"To meet the Duchess and for her to be so interested in and engaged with our stories was, was brilliant," Curtis continued. "We’re serving our queen, our country, the royal family. And obviously to have that level of, the boss coming along and, and patting you on your back for the hard work was amazing."
