He may be the future king of England—but before he can rule over anything, Prince George has to get a good education.

Today, the six-year-old prince is once again starting the school year at Thomas's Battersea, a tony elementary school in London. Photographers documented the milestone, capturing pictures of George and his sister Charlotte outside the school, dressed in their adorable blue-and-red uniforms.

The eldest Cambridge son is entering Year 2 at the Lower School, the final grade before he graduates to the Middle School—and apparently, it's quite the step up. "By Year 2, the children become the Leaders of the Lower School," Helen Haslem, Head of the Lower School, writes on the Thomas's Battersea website. "This increasing independence and maturity helps them to prepare for a smooth transition to the Middle School."

Luckily, George has a good base of support from his classmates. "George is really happy at school, [and] his nickname is P.G.," a Thomas's Battersea parent told Vanity Fair earlier this year. "He’s very popular and has lots of friends, and there’s very little fuss made about who he is."

It helps that his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, blend in as best they can. "Either William or Kate do drop off, and they are always very friendly," the parent added. "William particularly loves to have a chat with some of the other parents and he works out with some of the mums at the Harbour Club after drop off. He’s very chatty and amiable."

For the first time this year, Princess Charlotte is also joining George at Thomas's Battersea, further ingratiating the Cambridge family in the school community. She's reportedly very happy to do so, per People. "She can’t wait to be with George at big school," a source said. "She is so excited about it all."
