  • A family friend of the royals describes Prince George as "a jolly little person," "inquisitive," and "full of beans," according to People.

  • The young royal and third in line to the throne just turned six years old on Monday.

  • His parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, released sweet portraits of George this week in honor of the occasion.

Prince George really is as fun as all of the photos make him seem to be. The oldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who just turned six this week, is "a jolly little person and inquisitive," a family friend of the royals told People. But we probably could've figured that out from the looks of his giggly birthday portraits, which were released on Sunday.

The third in line for the throne flashes a big (somewhat toothless) smile and freely laughs in the grass in the images, taken by his mother Kate Middleton, showing us a fun-loving side of the pint-sized prince.

This, however, wasn't the first time we've seen Prince George show his silly nature. He given us mischievous looks at Princess Eugenie's royal wedding, sassy expressions at aunt Meghan Markle's royal wedding, and pure joy over helicopters at a German airport. As People's source put it, George is "full of beans," meaning he's energetic and lively.

The six-year-old has a lot to smile about lately, especially now that he's currently on school break for the summer. He and his family also recently traveled to the Caribbean island of Mustique—their go-to getaway spot—for vacation and his sixth birthday.

When he isn't jet-setting, Prince George is still living the life, playing tennis with Roger Federer (yes, actually) and spending plenty of time outdoors with his mom.
