There comes a day in every kid’s life when it’s time to say goodbye to child’s play and hello to more serious endeavors, like preparing to be king. For Prince George (Kate Middleton and Prince William’s first-born nugget), that day is today, July 22—the day he turns ten. From meeting President Obama (in a chic bathrobe) to getting pushed down a grassy knoll (thanks a lot, Savannah Phillips), here are 22 of Prince George’s cutest moments.

1. When He Graced Us with His Royal Presence for the First Time

On July 22, 2013, our lives were forever changed when new parents Kate Middleton and Prince William introduced their beautiful baby boy, Prince of Cambridge George Alexander Louis, and his cherubic face to the world.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tried to keep their son out of the public eye as much as possible during his first year of princedom. However, in 2014 the royal family decided it was high time the little prince stepped into the spotlight. They brought George and his pudgy forearms along on a three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand.

At the Gigaset Charity Polo Match in 2015, Prince George demonstrated that he, just like any other toddler, had seemingly endless reserves of energy. The 2-year-old (at the time) was spotted frolicking through the grass, sliding down hills and running away from his mummy.

Just because George didn’t get an invite to the Trooping the Colour ceremony in 2015 doesn’t mean he wasn’t the star of the show. While his parents tended to their royal duties, Prince George had a party of his own with his nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion, and showed off one of his many hidden talents—silly faces.

13. When He Showed Off a Missing Tooth for His 6th Birthday

His mom's photography skills were seriously on point for George's official birthday portraits in honor of his sixth birthday on July 22, 2019. The prince and third in line to the throne sported a National England soccer team jersey as he played in the grass at his home of Kensington Palace just a couple weeks after England's women's team, the Lionesses, were knocked out of the World Cup.

14. And When He Looked Casual in Camo for His 7th Birthday Portraits

In 2020, Kensington Palace released two new photos of the young royal that were (not surprisingly) taken by Kate Middleton. In the first snap, PG looks super casual in a camouflage t-shirt while the second photograph features a preppier prince as he rocks an olive polo. They grow up so fast.

15. When He Cheered On England

Prince George showed support for his country during the Euro Finals at Wembley Stadium in London. He attended the football (soccer, to us Americans) match alongside his parents, who were seen comforting the young royal when England lost to Italy.

During the carriage procession at this year’s Trooping the Colour, both Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte could be seen following their big brother’s lead as they waved to the crowd. Way to set a great example, Prince George.

While Prince Louis opted to cover his ears, Prince George stood in awe as he observed the Platinum Jubilee flypast from Buckingham Palace. TBH, we’d probably do the same.
