Prince Constantin of Liechtenstein

Prince Constantin of Liechtenstein, son of the reigning Prince Hans-Adam II, has tragically died, a recent announcement revealed. He was 51.

According to an announcement from the Princely House of Liechtenstein, Prince Constantin passed away "unexpectedly" on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Details surrounding a cause of death have not been made public at this time.

Prince Constantin, the youngest son of Prince Hans-Adam II, was seventh in the line of succession to the throne. A father of three, the late royal is survived by his wife, Princess Marie, their sons Prince Moritz, 20, and Prince Bendikt, 15, as well as daughter Princess Georgina, 18.

“The Princely House regrets to announce that S.D. Prince Constantin of Liechtenstein died unexpectedly on December 5, 2023," the official statement from the royal house read. "Prince Constantin was the youngest son of Prince Hans-Adam II. He leaves behind his wife, Princess Marie of Liechtenstein, née Countess Kálnoky of Kőröspatak, and his children Prince Moritz, Princess Georgina and Prince Benedikt."

Prior to his passing, Prince Constantin served as chairman of the supervisory board and a member of the Board of Directors at Liechtenstein Group AG.

A message shared to Liechtenstein Group's LinkedIn page described High Highness' death as a "terrible shock to all those who knew him."

"The Liechtenstein Group is in deep mourning," the message continued. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his widow Princess Marie von und zu Liechtenstein, and their children Moritz, Georgina and Benedikt."

"This is shocking news," one LinkedIn user wrote in response to the heartbreaking post. "My deepest condolences to the family 💐🙏."

"Way too soon...I am very sad and shocked," someone else wrote in part, while another user called Prince Constantin's death a "terrible loss for the family and the world."
