Prince Charles Wants Prince William to Stand Up For Camilla Ahead of Prince Harry's Book Release
Royal fans are waiting with bated breath for Prince Harry's upcoming memoir — but the royal family is reportedly having a few reservations. Sources close to Prince Charles say that he's expecting the book to shine a not-so-flattering light on Camilla Parker Bowles and he's hoping that he can recruit Prince William to either help with some preemptive damage control or, at the very least, do his best to stay neutral as the book hits shelves.
Charles is apparently terrified that Harry's autobiography could include an "excoriating takedown" of Parker-Bowles. It wouldn't be completely surprising, either, since he lived through Charles having an affair with Parker-Bowles while he was married to Princess Diana. Charles reportedly hopes that William says something about the book to sway public opinion.
"Charles has shared his concerns with William, and is keen he somehow goes on the record and sticks up for Camilla, should the book attack her," a source shared with The Sun.

The source went on to say that while he could do that to appease his father, the more likely scenario involves William staying out of it entirely.
"But as much as William loves his father, he's unlikely to want to get involved. In all likelihood, he will try and stay neutral," they said.
Eagle-eyed royal watchers know that William is likely to stay tight-lipped on everything, since the two brothers have grown apart since Harry decamped from the royals and moved to America with Meghan Markle.
Charles recently wrote an essay for Newsweek that addressed climate change and many saw it as an olive branch to Harry, who counts environmentalism as one of his major causes. So far, Harry hasn't addressed Charles's piece.
