Prince Charles Just Opened a Bed and Breakfast in Scotland and It's Dreamy
While, of course, we are all celebrating the exciting arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal baby boy (and anxiously waiting to see him, his nursery, and learn his name), there's a lot more to celebrate in the royal family today. Like...I don't know...the fact that Prince Charles has opened his very own bed and breakfast.
Prince Charles's 10-bedroom Granary Lodge opened to the public today, according to the John O'Groat Journal and Caithness Courier. Located on the grounds of the Castle of Mey in Caithness, Scotland, Travel & Leisure reports, it has breathtaking views of the North Sea, so you'll want to book your stay ASAP.
Originally, T & L shares, Prince Charles's grandmother owned the property from 1952 until her death when she gifted it to The Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust. After a multimillion-pound restoration, Prince Charles and his foundation transformed the building on castle grounds so visitors can live like royals.
Though this is, of course, not His Royal Highness's first tourism venture-you'll soon be able to tour the gardens of his Highgrove House-the hope is that with the development of Granary Lodge, Scotland's north Highlands will see more tourism, particularly on the Castle of Mey grounds.
