Prince Charles Gave Meghan Markle Some Fashion Advice for Her First Overseas State Dinner

From Cosmopolitan

Prince Charles, aka Prince Harry and Prince William's dad, has been coming through with the good advice for Harry and Meghan Markle lately. First, there was a report that Prince Charles gave Harry and Meg some solid advice about how to deal with bad press ("just carry on doing the job") and now it looks like he even gave Meghan some fashion advice for her first royal tour.

Daily Mail reports that Prince Charles intervened when he heard that Meghan had plans to wear a tiara to her first overseas state dinner in Fiji. Apparently, Meg was going to borrow a tiara from the Royal Collection for the dinner, but Prince Charles didn't think that it would be a great idea.

Reportedly his reasoning for nixing the tiara was that it might have been seen as "extravagant" and could be taken as "reminiscent of a bygone era." A source also shared with the Daily Mail that "Meghan did not understand all of this because she was new to the role and so Prince Charles told her that it would not be appropriate...It was very kindly done."

And just in case you're wondering, here's what Meg ended up wearing to the event, and she looked amazing even without the headpiece:

Props to Prince Charles for stepping up with the fashion/royal decorum advice, and also wow being a member of the British royal family sounds hard!
