Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla Go Floral for Their 2020 Christmas Card
The 2020 Clarence House Christmas card has officially arrived.
In a photograph taken by a member of their staff, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla posed together in the garden at Birkhall, the property on Queen Elizabeth II's Balmoral estate in Scotland where Charles and Camilla have largely been residing since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. The picture shows the couple siting on a bench while surrounded by colorful flora.
It's been quite the year for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. In late March, the 72-year-old heir to the throne was diagnosed with COVID-19 and displayed "mild symptoms" of the virus. He and Camilla then took to self-isolating together at Birkhall. He has since recovered.
Charles also penned an essay for the Sunday Telegraph in late September, in which he highlighted the plight of young people suffering from the pandemic. "For anyone, this is a difficult time—but it is a particularly difficult time to be young," he wrote.
He also noted that his youth charity, The Prince's Trust, is working to aid young people across the United Kingdom. "This year, we celebrate the fact that over the last nearly 45 years, we have helped a million young people to change their lives for the better," he shared. "Over all these years since the trust was launched, there has never been an easy time."
He added, "However, there has never been a time as uniquely challenging as the present, when the pandemic has left perhaps another million young people needing urgent help to protect their futures. The task ahead is unquestionably vast, but it is not insurmountable."
