Prince Charles Doesn't "Agree" With Prince Harry "Trashing His Whole Family"

Prince Charles still hasn't issued a public comment on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's tell-all interview with Oprah last Sunday, but apparently he's not thrilled.

“Charles does not agree with Harry trashing his whole family in public,” a source tells Us Weekly. “Charles thinks these matters could have easily been addressed in private.” Oh, and apparently both Charles and Prince William “feel that this is the first of many interviews coming in the future that will bash the crown and the royals' way of life."

Harry spoke about his relationship with his dad during his interview with Oprah, saying he feels “really let down," and Charles stopped taking his calls after Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping away from senior royal duties. Meghan also revealed that there was racist “concern” from within the royal family about “how dark [Archie’s] skin might be when he’s born.” She and Harry didn't reveal the identity of the person who made these awful remarks, but Oprah confirmed it wasn't the Queen or Prince Philip.

Prince William has since broken his silence on the interview, saying he hasn't spoken to Harry yet but "will do" and saying "we’re very much not a racist family."

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace released this brief statement two days after the Sussexes' Oprah interview:

“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
