  • Prince William and Prince Harry's feud is sadly still going strong.

  • According to royal historian Robert Lacey, Prince Charles could be they key to helping the brothers get on better terms.

Prince Harry and Prince William's royal rift is still a thing, haven't you heard? Royal historian Robert Lacey has all the dirt on Harry and William's feud for us mere common folk in his new book, Battle of Brothers, and he says Prince Charles may be key in helping the brothers resolve their issues... despite the fact that there's "nothing coming out of the palaces about reconciliation." Bless his intel!

"The obvious person to create or encourage [their] reconciliation is Charles," he told Us Weekly. "He hasn’t come into the picture so far as we know so far…[but] that is one possible channel for reconciliation. I’d rather hope that behind the scenes, Charles is at work mending the fences [and] building the bridges."

At the moment, Harry and William's relationship is *almost* beyond repair, according to Lacey—in his book, he writes "both brothers have been damaged by their upbringings; both have reacted by finding different solutions. There is so much pain and trauma in this story, going right back to the beginning."

And though Harry and William were "raised to be close and protective of each other," their reservations towards one another stems from differing feelings about their duties to the Crown: "Fundamental to the whole saga is the clash of love versus duty," Lacey said, explaining that William and Harry face "potential tragedy" if they're unable to find a better balance in the future.

"This compares with Edward VIII’s abdication in 1936 and the death of Princess Diana in 1997," he added. "It’s of that scale. And it's a challenge that’s yet to be resolved."

@Charles, we're waiting on you to step in!!!
