The deals around Amazon Prime Day—taking place on July 11 and 12 this year—have begun, and as usual, we’re seeing steep discounts on Amazon-brand products. Namely, Prime members can take up to 35% off Kindle e-readers, including discounts on the newest additions to the line, like the Kindle Scribe.
Regardless of how you like to read, it’s tough to beat the experience you get with any given Amazon Kindle—they have warm and cool adjustable backlights, massive storage space for books, and light, ergonomic designs that’ll have you reading more than you have in years.

Kindle Paperwhite (8 GB)
Kindle E-Reader (2022 Release)
The simplest e-reader from Amazon is also the smallest, lightest, and cheapest—especially this Prime Day. It’s typically $99, which is quite affordable for an industry-leading e-reader, but this Prime Day you can snag the plain old Kindle for 35% off—that’s $65 for a device that just might change your life.
You can also get the beloved Kindle Paperwhite for 36% off, which has a bigger screen than the Kindle, as well as an adjustable warm light for late-night reading, complete waterproofing so you can use it in the bath or the pool, and a super long battery life that’ll last for over a month, easy.
I’ve been using my Kindle Paperwhite for almost five years now, and it’s truly changed the way I read—I can take this thing on my paddle board without worrying about splashes, and the backlights make it possible to read without keeping my partner up at night. It usually costs $140, but Prime members can get it for $90 through Prime Day.

Kindle Oasis
Kindle Scribe with Premium Pen
If you’re looking for an upgrade from the traditional e-reader, the Kindle Oasis and Kindle Scribe might scratch the itch. The Kindle Oasis—discounted to $165 this Prime Day—has physical page-turning buttons (unlike the Paperwhite), and boasts a larger screen and an ergonomic “handle” for comfortable one-handed reading. This is a great pick if you like to read in larger fonts, and this is the lowest price we’ve seen on the Kindle Oasis this year, so jump on it fast.
To add note-taking and annotation to your Kindle experience, the new Kindle Scribe is discounted by 24%, landing at $320 for an all-in-one journal, library, and notebook. The screen is much larger than other Kindle devices to make room for extensive writing with the included Premium Pen. You can use it to write down to-do lists, annotate PDFs, sketch drawings, or simply read a book.
While this isn’t quite the lowest price we’ve seen on the Kindle Scribe this year, Amazon tends to discount its newer devices only on occasion, so you might have to wait until Black Friday to see another deal like this.
You can also snag discounts on Amazon-approved cases for your new device, including sleek suede and leather covers and protective add-ons. Shop the best Prime Day deals on Kindle accessories below.
