These Are the Priciest ZIP Codes in the United States: Report
California has some of the highest costs of living in America and more than half of the country’s priciest ZIP codes. In fact, using data from Zillow, Forbes just released its annual report of the 100 most expensive ZIP codes in the U.S., and the Golden State accounted for a whopping 61 percent of the list. But that shouldn’t come as a total surprise.
This year, as in multiple previous years, the Bay Area enclave of Atherton (33109) has held onto the number one spot, with the median home value as of August 2023 soaring to just shy of $7.5 million. Meanwhile, several other prime pockets across Silicon Valley and Los Angeles comprise the list’s top ten. Beverly Hills’s 90210 landed in the third spot, with Montecito (93108), Los Altos (94022), and Santa Monica (90402) not far behind.

In second place for the priciest ZIP code is 33109, Florida’s Fisher Island, a wealthy enclave just off the southern tip of Miami Beach. Per the report, the latest median home value here was roughly $5.7 million.
The state of New York may not show up until number four on the list—Sagaponack’s 11962 in the Hamptons, with a median home price of $5.3 million—but it is home to 12 of the country’s priciest ZIP codes, including several in Manhattan. Manhattan’s most expensive ZIP code, 10013, which includes parts of Soho, clocked in at number 22, while Tribeca’s 10007 shows up at number 34 and Greenwich Village’s 10012 at number 51.
Across the river, the state of New Jersey accounts for four out of the 100 most expensive ZIP codes across the country. Leading the pack was Alpine’s 07620, with a median home price of $2.7 million. Not too shabby for the Garden State. Other ZIP codes that ranked near the top include Woody Creek, Colorado (86516), which landed in the fifth spot; Medina, Washington’s 98039, number nine on the list; and, at number 13, Sea Island, Georgia (31561).
