The Apple Vision Pro is one of the most talked-about tech products in years — and also more expensive than most people’s monthly rent. Fortunately, Apple’s headset just got its first notable discount, and while it doesn’t exactly put it in the “affordable” category, it’ll at least allow prospective splurge buyers to save a couple hundred bucks.

The Apple Vision Pro headset just got its first-ever discount, taking a bit of the sting out of the high price of spatial computing.

$3,299 at Woot!

The Vision Pro is currently $200 off at Woot!, bringing its hefty $3,499 price tag down to a still-sizable $3,299. There is a major catch, however: This deal only applies to the model that includes the Solo Knit Band and Dual Loop Band in size small. You can use Apple’s store page to see if these sizes will fit you (I personally wear a small), but if not, you’ll have to spend $99 on each version of the correctly sized headband — essentially canceling out any savings.

For the small-headed headset enthusiasts that remain, is the Apple Vision Pro worth $3,299? I’ve had one for about two months now, and it’s still hard to say. Apple’s goggles provide the most frictionless experience I’ve had with a VR headset, and bouncing between familiar apps like Safari, Messages and Music in a 3D space with just your eyes and hands feels like true sci-fi magic when everything’s working. It’s also a fantastic way to watch movies, giving you your own personal theater with a massive virtual screen and Dolby Atmos sound. Unfortunately, all these benefits come at the cost of comfort; the Vision Pro is just too heavy, and I find myself wanting to take it off after even short bursts of use these days.

Still, if you’re cool with living the early adopter life and were set on splurging on a Vision Pro anyway, you might as well save $200 in the process (assuming these sizes work for you, that is). You can put that cash toward some handy Apple Vision Pro accessories, including Apple’s pricey but well-padded $200 Vision Pro Travel Case, which is all but essential for transporting the thing safely. This sale is part of Woot’s Prime Appreciation Days deals event that’s running through April 5, so you’ve only got a few days left to save.
