"Pretty Little Liars" Stars Celebrate the Show's Anniversary

It's hard to believe that Pretty Little Liars has already been over for practically a year; it feels like yesterday that fans were freaking out over the big reveal of A.D.'s identity. But if you need any more proof that time has officially flown by, get this — it's been eight full years since the pilot first aired in 2010.

That's right; nearly a decade has passed since the Liars received their first text from "A," and we're not the only ones getting a little sentimental. Some of the show's stars took to social media yesterday, June 8, to honor their pretty little anniversary and remember where it all began.

Lucy Hale (AKA Aria Montgomery) posted a framed photo of the Liars on her Instagram stories, writing: "8 years ago today the pilot of PLL aired. I'm not crying, YOU ARE." (She's right, TBH.)

Shay Mitchell (who played Emily Fields) also took a trip down memory lane, sharing a screenshot of the show's description on Google, along with the pilot date. "8 years ago TODAY!" she wrote alongside the picture. "Time flies."

Showrunner I. Marlene King paid tribute to the momentous day on Insta, posting a series of photos from the pilot as well as some behind the scenes shots. "8 years ago, today, we had our first #prettylittleliars party together," she wrote. "Happy Birthday little show that could. Thanks to the writers, cast, crew and fans for becoming the family I will always love. ❤️"

One thing is for sure — our time in Rosewood may be over (well, until the spinoff that is), but PLL will never be forgotten. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to re-watch the pilot...and maybe the entire series one more time.
