The “Pretty Little Liars” Moms Are Starting a Podcast

When it comes to TV mothers, we still hold a special place in our hearts for the Pretty Little Liars moms, even though it’s been years since we’ve seen them in new episodes. Ella Montgomery, Ashley Marin, Pam Fields, and Veronica Hastings (portrayed by Holly Marie Combs, Laura Leighton, Nia Peeples, and Lesley Fera, respectively) created one of the greatest fictional mom squads to ever grace our screens, and there’s been a hoodie-sized hole in our hearts since PLL came to an end in 2017. Fortunately, the series is headed to HBO Max later this month…and the IRL PLL moms are launching a podcast to celebrate.

As noted by TV Guide, Combs, Leighton, Peeples, and Fera announced the inaugural episode of their re-watch podcast, which is set to launch on May 29. The actors plan to re-watch the entire series together, while discussing “behind-the-scenes stories” that only they could share. “Expect surprises/special guests, too!” they wrote in the podcast’s official Twitter announcement.

Alongside their announcement, the actors shared a video of themselves on a video call, reenacting the classic Shh! moment from the series’ opening segment. “Prepare yourselves,” Fera says in the clip. “Buckle up. It’s going to be a wild ride.”

If there’s anyone we want to lead us down a rabbit hole of Rosewood memories, it’s the PLL moms. We’re betting Leighton has some thoughts about the lasagna box in Ashley’s kitchen, and Combs undoubtedly has a hilarious story or two about the time “A” unleashed a swarm of bees in Ella’s car. Bees!

But without a doubt, the PLL moment we’re most excited to hear the moms discuss: the infamous basement scene. In case you need a refresher, the PLL moms were locked in the basement of the DiLaurentis’ house at the end of Season 6…and mysteriously escaped. “How did the moms get out of the basement?” was the question that haunted fans for literal years, until showrunner I. Marlene King finally took pity on us. “They were in there a long time and they had to probably climb on top of each other,” Marlene said while chatting with cast member Shay Mitchell on IG Stories back in August 2017. “Pam [Fields]...had to take her clothes off, and they put oil on her and slid her out of the window.”

OK, we’re going to need to hear Nia Peeples’s take on this. Here’s hoping they dedicate an entire episode to the basement moment — it’s what fans deserve!
